On Sunday’s episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo Hampton went to blows with Drew Sidora after being triggered by her characterization of a shooting.
The ladies were in the middle of discussing an “incident” that happened at a restaurant owned by Kandi Burruss, in which Kandi’s cousin and kitchen manager was shot by an employee. The Xscape singer previously said it was a “private matter” but Marlo, 47, noted that Kandi has a pattern of deflecting conversations about her.
After production wrapped, an emotional Marlo confronted Drew for repeatedly referring to the shooting as an “incident.” During their heated conversation, Drew made note that she was from Chicago and had lost loved ones to gun violence too. However, Marlo wasn’t feeling her explanation. “Drew is trying to act like she lost people to gun violence and she can’t say the word shooting,” Marlo said in a confessional. “But I lost someone who was close to me as well and it’s triggering for me.” Further into their debate, Marlo went on to tell Drew that her nephew was dead and that he also used to work at Kandi’s restaurant. After noticing Drew’s lack of emotions while discussing the sensitive topic, Marlo got even more upset. “My blood nephew is dead,” Marlo said while shouting at the actress. “F*** you! My nephew is dead, b****!’ Marlo screamed. ‘I’m telling you my nephew is dead, are you serious? F*** you b**** know when to cut off the acting.”
While doubling back in the confessional, Marlo said the conversation ultimately brought her back to the moment when she told Kandi about the shooting death of her nephew Quentin McNeil, who had worked at one of Kandi’s restaurants. She said two years ago she texted Kandi about Quentin, who had worked at Kandi’s ‘Old Lady Gang,’ about being shot at home by his roommate.
“When Drew brought the shooting, I just thought of Quinten in his chef’s outfit looking so proud. Two years ago when I texted Kandi to tell her that my nephew who worked for you got shot at his home by his roommate, I just felt like she didn’t care. Then when I see her the next day she pretended like she had no idea what I was talking about.”
Marlo went on to say, “Nobody can make Kandi talk about anything she don’t want to Chile and people allowed her to get away with it. But guess what? I’m calling you out.”
