Walmart Responds To Kanye West & Yeezy Claim That They Ripped Off Foam Runner

As we reported earlier today, Kanye West and his Yeezy clothing brand have filed a lawsuit against Walmart, claiming that they ripped off their Foam Runner (Foam RNNR) shoe, and now the company responds.

While Walmart’s shoe looks exactly identical to Kanye’s popular Yeezy shoe, the megastore is beating out the competition by selling the shoe for $24.99. However, Ye and his team aren’t here for the knockoff and filed a lawsuit, claiming the store made “an unauthorized exact copy” of their shoe that debuted in 2019. They also noted that they sent private legal notices to pull the replica from online, but the company has yet to do so.

Responding to the claims, a representative for Walmart says, “The product referenced in the complaint is not sold by Walmart, but rather by third party Marketplace sellers. We take allegations like this seriously and are reviewing the claim. We will respond in court as appropriate after we have been served with the complaint.”
