Woman Who Coughed On $35K In Food Charged For Felony Terrorist Threats

Yesterday (Mar 26), we reported that a woman intentionally coughed on $35,000 worth of food at a grocery store in Pennsylvania, causing them to toss it all. Now, she’s been charged for felony terrorist threats.

Following the incident which took place at a Gerrity’s Supermarket in Hanover Township, the chain’s co-owner, Joe Fasula, took to Facebook to report that the woman — now identified as Margaret Cirko — began coughing on produce, bakery items, meat and other products, before being removed from the store and having cops called.

After being administered a mental health treatment, Cirko, has since been arrested and charged with felony counts of terrorist threats, threats to use a “biological agent” and criminal mischief. She also faces a misdemeanor of criminal attempt to commit retail theft and disorderly conduct.

Additionally, police say upon entering the store Cirko spewed verbal threats, claiming she was sick, as she deliberately cough and spat on products. Before being kicked out, she then proceeded to steal a 12-pack of beer.

Officials set Cirko’s bail at $50,000 and is due in court on April 8.
