9/11 Remembered: Social Media Pays Tribute To Victims & Brave First Responders

A day that would never be forgotten: Nineteen years ago today, thousands of people who prepared for their daily morning routines never saw past 10 am as two planes piloted by Al Qaeda terrorists flew into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. Another struck into the Pentagon and a fourth crashed into a Pennsylvania field; a tragedy that struck the heart of America.

Today many Americans are taking this time to remember the innocent lives that were lost including the brave first responders who tried to save others while battling extreme flames. Despite being in the most challenging year, people are dedicated to honoring all the victims.

Joining social media users paying tribute, President Donald Trump shared a tweet which read, #NeverForget #September 11. He made the caption over a picture of he and First Lady Melania with bold texts that read “We Will Never Forget.” In another tweet Trump said, “In 2001, our Nation, united under God, made an unbreakable promise never to forget the nearly 3,000 innocent Americans who were senselessly killed on September 11th. On this sacred day — Patriot Day — we solemnly honor that commitment.” Meanwhile presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden actually attended the ceremony at ground zero before heading to Shanksville, Pa., where he and the president will both honor the victims of the hijacked plane that crashed after passengers fought back.
