Reports are coming in about a police investigation happening near rapper Drake’s Toronto home. As of right now, little information has been shared about the large police presence at the Bridle Path mansion.
According to CP24 coverage, police tape and patrol cars could be seen outside near the yard of the rap superstar’s home. While details are still unclear, Toronto police say emergency crews were called to the area of Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East just after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning following reports of a shooting. It was said that a man was rushed to hospital with “serious injuries.”
Police announced over social media that the suspect fled in a vehicle. However, police did not provide a description of the suspect or vehicle. It is also unclear if Drake was at home at the time. The street has since been cordoned off, the news site reports.
Curiously, approximately an hour prior to this incident, another shooting occurred in the Oakwood Village neighborhood of the city. Tragically, this earlier incident resulted in the loss of a man’s life, while a woman suffered minor injuries. As of now, it remains unclear whether these two shootings are connected in any way, leaving the community on edge and seeking answers.
The police are actively investigating both incidents.
