More problems for Young Thug and his family. Quantavious Grier — the brother of the jailed rapper who is currently waiting for his trial in Atlanta to begin on numerous RICO charges — was arrested on Thursday during a traffic stop.

According to Atlanta Police Department, officers pulled over Grier’s black Mercedes on Cleveland Avenue on Thursday at around 4 P.M. When officers approached the driver, they detected the strong smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A K9 unit was called in to investigate the smell. Officers claim the police dog quickly alerted to the scent of drugs within the car, which promoted the officers to remove the occupants from the vehicle for a thorough search.

From there, officers came across a handgun that was stashed away in the driver’s door panel. Grier was then taken into police custody. Grier, who goes by “Unfoonk,” was also found to be in possession of an illegal firearm, which is a violation of his status as a convicted felon. To make matters worse…

To make matters worse, Grier was also charged with improper window tint and a safety belt violation. To add, officers also accused Grier of being involved in criminal street gang activity, a Fox Atlanta notes. Now, despite that, no drugs were found on the scene, and no other occupants in the vehicle were charged.

While the car was impounded as part of the ongoing investigation, Grier was taken to the Fulton County Jail, where he remains until his scheduled court appearance.

Clearly this is not good thing for Grier who has a a bigger legal problem to worry about. As it was previously reported, he was arrested his brother Young Thug, whose real names if Jeffery Lamar Williams, back in May 2022 along with two dozen others.  Although Grier pleaded guilty to a racketeering charge in December in order to avoid prison, he was ultimately sentenced to 12 years as part of the deal. This was commuted to two years of time served and 10 years of probation.

After he was released, he denied snitching on his brother to get out of the slammer.

“Damn people really think I told on my own brother smh,” he wrote. “show me in the paper work I told on anybody lol, I’m not even fenna entertain any of it, peace and blessings.”

As we previously reported, Gunna was also arrested on RICO charges as well and pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge. However, after spending some time in the slammer, he was released. The rest of his sentence will be served in the form of 500 hours of community service.

Meanwhile, Young Thug is still jailed but his team has been determined to get him out. Gunna’s lawyer has previously issued a statement surrounding the ongoing allegations that his client cooperated with authorities in the YSL RICO case.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said in a statement following his release from jail.
