Timesha Beauchamp passed away on Sunday at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and her family’s attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, reported she died as a result of severe brain damage. Beauchamp sustained her internal injury after paramedics falsely declared her as dead on August 23 and failed to provide her with oxygen before taking her to the James H Cole funeral home. Before her death, Beauchamp also suffered from cerebral palsy.

‘Our whole family is devastated. ‘This is the second time our beloved Timesha has been pronounced dead – but this time she isn’t coming back.’

The young woman was also left in a body bag for two hours before she was found by an undertaker as they were about to embalm her body. Beauchamp’s mother said the paramedics ignored the family’s concerns after noticing Timesha was breathing and had a pulse but paramedics claimed it was a “side effect” of the medication they had given her.  They also gave them a body and told the family to start making funeral arrangements before Timesha was transported to Providence Hospital where she was pronounced “dead.”

In a total of four hours, Beauchamp did not have sustainable oxygen between paramedics not administering it and being kept in the body bag for two hours. The state of Michigan has suspended the licenses of the four paramedics who worked on the shift and the Beauchamp family has filed a lawsuit against state and local officials.
