Woman Known For Karen Rants Hit by Fire Truck

A woman who went viral for her racist Karen rants has been hit by a firetruck and has life-threatening injuries.

Rachel Dawn Ruit of Terry’s Gap Road in Henderson County went viral for her atrocious rants against a teen and a woman in hijab. According to The Asheville Police Department she was hit by the truck on July 13.

“This afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to the 800 block of Patton Avenue after reports of a pedestrian being struck in the roadway,” Sheriff Hallingse said.

“Upon arrival officers located a female, known to officers as Rachel Dawn Ruit, suffering from life threatening injuries. She is currently at Mission in critical condition.”

Witness Jonathan Rowell said he saw the entire accident,

“I just witnessed the same lady from that video accidentally step out into traffic on Patton Avenue, going towards downtown Asheville, as she was walking with traffic coming from behind her,” Rowell posted on Facebook. “The Asheville Fire Department truck that you see in the background is the vehicle that she stepped out in front of.”

As we reported, Ruit, 41, was initially arrested July 4 for ripping off a woman’s hijab and then grabbing a teenager in the groin while making threats.
