According to TMZ, a male contestant was rushed to a local hospital after needing medical attention on the set in Santa Clarita, California. Before his death, the contestant told medical personnel that he was experiencing chest pains after completing the obstacle course and they began using a defibrillator.
A statement was released by TBS after receiving news of the man’s death. They wrote to the media outlet, “We are devastated to have learned of his passing and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family.”

The show’s production company, Endemol Shine North America offered their condolences to the contestant’s family: “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time.” Due to the incident, production has stopped on Thursday and Friday and next week was a planned off week due to the holiday.
TBS announced back in April that there would be a reboot of the classic show and will be hosted by John Cena and Nicole Byer. However, the show’s date has yet to be announced. Producers stated that all contestants undergo medical screenings prior to participating in courses and there are paramedics on set.
