OMG! The wife of a U.S. Air Force worker has been charged after being accused of putting bleach in her husband’s coffee, trying to kill him for his benefits.

According to reports, the wife, who is an Arizona woman identified as Melody Felicano Johnson, allegedly poured the toxic substance into her husband’s morning coffee, on multiple occasions. Apparently, the husband, Roby Johnson, believed something was awry and began setting up secret cameras in their home to catch his wife in the alleged act.

While stationed in Germany for work in March 2023, Mr. Johnson claimed that is when he first started to notice that his coffee tasted “very bad.” He said his wife would prepare his coffee the night before, so that in the mornings all he had to do was just warm up the pot and be on his way.

However, when the U.S. Air Force Worker became suspicious of his odd-tasting cups of caffeine, he purchased pool testing strips and would dip them in the coffee pot. To his surprise, he soon found out that there were “high levels of chlorine” mixed in the coffee.

He took things a step further and set up cameras, which eventually showed his wife pouring something into the coffee pot. Mr. Johnson said he continued to pretend that things were fine and that he was drinking the coffee, just until he could make it back to his home base in the U.S.

Once he returned to the Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona in July, Mr. Johnson formerly filed a police report. He also set up more cameras at his permanent home in Arizona. He placed one over the coffee machine, one in the laundry room where the bleach is stored, and another camera in the hallway leading from the laundry room to the area where the coffee maker is kept.

Once he gathered all of his video evidence, Mr. Johnson went back to the police department to share his findings. This was enough for an arrest warrant and a search warrant. Mrs. Johnson was arrested at the couple’s home and the search warrant proved that the coffee pot smelled like bleach.

In the police report, it was also revealed that Mr. Johnson claimed he was being poisoned by his wife so that she could kill him and “collect death benefits.”

Prosecutors said she is a flight risk as she just recently purchased a house in the Philippines.
