White Man In Illinois Charged For Rioting After Handing Out Explosives In Minneapolis & Planning More Attacks In Chicago
Chicago police have arrested and charged a white Illinois man for rioting after he handed out explosives during the Minneapolis protests, and returned to Chicago to plan more attacks.
Police have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Matthew Rupert and charged him with civil disorder, carrying on a riot, and possession of unregistered destructive devices. While carrying out his destructive actions in Minneapolis on Friday, Rupert, of Galesburg, posted his moves on Facebook live; where he’s seen encouraging protestors to throw explosive devices at law enforcement.

In addition, he’s seen damaging property, lights a building on fire, looting businesses and much more. On Saturday, Rupert posted that he was traveling to Chicago to do more damage. Early Sunday morning, he posted more videos of additional damage, and was subsequently arrested for violating Chicago’s emergency curfew order.
Upon arresting Rupert, law enforcement searched his vehicle and recovered several destructive devices, a hammer, a heavy-duty flashlight and cash.
