Chicagoans Flood Social Media With Posts Warning Latino Gangs Are Attacking Innocent Black Civilians
While Chicagoans already face increased brutality and harassment from police amid Black Lives Matter protests, social media users in the area are flooding timelines with anecdotes and videos of Latino gangs joining in and attacking innocent black civilians.
Since the weekend, black residents have taken to social media warning others to stay away from certain areas as different members of Latino gangs are intentionally targeting black Chicagoans; seemingly creating an intense race war. Fox News’ Johnny Jones even tweeted, “A cop friend just texted me that the “Latin Kings” sent a message to the cops in his town that they would “take care” of the rioters and to not come around. Are we in an episode of SOA [Sons of Anarchy]??”

Additionally, some posts are more graphic than others showing shootouts, people throwing bricks and rocks, and setting cars on fire. Users have created the hashtag #AntiBlackWar to showcase the happenings and warn others of the attacks.
