White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany Tests Positive For COVID-19
On Monday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced that she too has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement posted to her Twitter account, she said:
“After testing negative consistently, including every day since Thursday, I tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning while experiencing no symptoms,” McEnany explained. She added, “No reporters, producers, or members of the press are listed as close contacts by the White House Medical Unit. I definitively had no knowledge of Hope Hicks’ diagnosis prior to holding a White House press briefing on Thursday,” McEnany noted. She went on to say, “As an essential worker, I have worked diligently to provide needed information to the American People at this time. With my recent positive test, I will begin the quarantine process and will continue working on behalf of the American People remotely.”
The news comes just days after President Donald Trump tested positive for the cornorvirus. He’s currently in a hospital seeking ”treatment” but is expected to be released today.
Trump even gave an updated on Sunday said that he has “learned a lot” about coronavirus from his hospital stay. Although he didn’t elaborate he noted that, “It’s been a very interesting journey.”
