Shannon Sharpe is not playing with Ja Morant! The Undisputed host is sounding off once again on the basketball star’s reckless actions and let’s just say the former athlete is not letting up!
As many are aware, during Tuesday’s episode of the Breakfast Club, guest host Claudia Jordan reported that the gun Morant was holding during another Instagram Live was actually a toy gun. She said, “My sources say that the relative in the back of the car in the back seat had a toy gun in the car. The gun is not real and (the relative) was playing around with it. Passed it to Ja and that got caught on the live, the video was sent to Adam Silver.”
While that has not been 100% confirmed just yet, Mr. Sharpe is just not buying it. During Wednesday morning’s show, he said, “Here we are again, Ja Morant refusing to accept accountability and responsibility for his actions,” Sharpe began before doing off even more. “Again it’s somebody else. Somebody from the back seat passed up a toy gun. What grown ass man you know play with toy guns and listen to NBA YoungBoy?” He asked co-host Skip Bayless. Sharpe continued, “The last person I know who played with a toy gun it didn’t end well for them. That was Tamir Rice. He was a 12-year-old.” Sharpe went on to say, “If that was your argument, used that the day after it happened!”

What Has Ja Morant Said After His 2nd Gun Flashing Incident?
After the Memphis Grizzlies star was caught on Instagram Live again flashing a gun while rapping to a song in the car, he released another statement apologizing for his actions. He said at the time in a statement to ESPN: “I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full responsibility for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”
The Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant from all team activities pending an NBA review of the May incident. Keep in mind, that came just two months after he was seen flashing a gun while in a strip club with friends.
The team previously released a statement saying, “We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant. He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”
As of right now, his return to the team looks a bit uncertain. However, sports fans are hoping he’ll learn from this latest and final incident.
How Is Ja Marant Doing Since His Suspension?
According to teammate Jaren Jackson Jr., he’s said to be doing “good” and believes the Grizzlies superstar will come back with a vengeance. “I think just growing up with this much attention on you, especially being this young. It’s a lot to deal with,” he said on Paul George’s podcast. He added, “Dude’s great. People always gotta understand that everybody human. That’s my brother though, no matter what. I stand my brother and I think that’s the lesson everybody should take away from this.”
