Wendy Williams Reportedly Returns To Rehab For Alleged Substance Abuse Issues

The new reports arrive as the 58-year-old media legend pushes through after her fallout with ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ production company Debmar-Mercury. Sources claim, “it’s gotten worse. She went from wine to straight-up vodka.”

The sources add that Wendy’s health and alleged addiction issues have only worsened since her former show’s production company allegedly “refused” to get her help. The source explains, “They turned their backs on her. They had too much control over someone so vulnerable.”

Seemingly confirming these claims, Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter, 50, previously stated in July that Debmar-Mercury had declined to participate in any actions that would pull the star away from her iconic purple chair.

Kevin said, “Debmar would not support Wendy’s recovery efforts with the family. They would not sign off on anything that would’ve helped her recovery efforts.”

Kevin also said that Wendy’s family attended some sort of intervention with Debmar-Mercury, where Kevin and the group talked about how they could further help Wendy with her alleged substance abuse issues and battle with alcoholism.

Wendy’s ex-husband said, “They sat in a meeting with her whole family, including her now-deceased mom, and would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober. They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.’”

Additionally, the sources claim Wendy has allegedly had difficulties in controlling her drinking, adding to the detriment of her overall health. They said, “She can’t stop drinking and she needs to stop drinking; it’s just making her health worse.”

Following the fallout with Dubmar-Mercury, Wendy has also been dealing with: (1) a battle over her finances with financial institution Wells Fargo; (2) being abandoned by her ex-financial adviser, Lori Schiller; and (3) recent public scrutiny over her claims that she is married to an NYPD officer.

Another insider claimed in August that “things are really off” for Wendy, adding, “It’s not the same Wendy … she’s regressed like crazy and her family in Florida is very worried for her.”
