Update: Two Sheriff’s Deputies In Critical Condition Following Ambush
Yesterday, we shared shocking footage of two sheriff’s deputies being ambushed in Compton by a suspect.
The Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies are currently in critical condition and fighting for their lives. They have been identified as a 31-year-old mother and 24-year-old. They had been sworn in just 14 months ago.
“One male deputy and one female deputy were ambushed as they sat in their patrol vehicle,” a sheriff’s department tweet read. “Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and are in critical condition. They are both currently undergoing surgery. The suspect is still at large.”
Sheriff Alex Villanueva reported that the two officers are at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.

Protesters gathered outside the emergency room at the hospital where the deputies were taken,
“To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling ‘We hope they die’ referring to 2 LA Sheriff’s ambushed today in Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL,” the sheriff’s department tweeted. “People’s lives are at stake when ambulances can’t get through.”
