Universal Music Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge have tested positive for the coronavirus. Currently, he is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
According to Variety, Grainge was hospitalized immediately after testing positive for the novel coronavirus and receiving treatment at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. However, the news has caused great concern for people who have attended his 60th birthday party on February 29 in Palm Springs at the Maidson Club.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, Apple Vice President Eddy Cue along with several other notable names were in attendance and currently, the facilities at the Madison Club are currently closed due to the outbreak.

Universal Music Group closed down their offices in Santa Monica on Friday after an unidentified employee tested positive for the disease. However, Grainge’s identity was not revealed at the time when a memo was issued by the company:

“Previously, we have committed that if there were to be a confirmed case of coronavirus infection in any of our offices, we would immediately close that location. We have just been informed that there is a confirmed case of infection in an employee based in our 2220 Colorado Avenue offices. Accordingly and out of an abundance of caution, we are immediately closing all of our Santa Monica offices, and all Santa Monica staff are required to work from home until further notice.”
