Couple Arrested For Stealing $1 Million In Jewelry From Hudson Yards

A Brooklyn couple was arrested Thursday after they allegedly stole $1 million in jewelry from a luxury store in New York City’s Hudson Yards shopping center.

According to the Daily Mail, Partick and Ernestine Preville,29, were detained by police from their Canarsie home Thursday for the robbery at a Piaget store on Feb.23. NYPD officials say Patrick dressed up in a burqa and held a bag containing a spray bottle before entering the store at 4:00 p.m. He asked a sales associate for a necklace and ring but the employee noticed Patrick also holding onto a watch. While being questioned by the employee, Patrick pulled out the spray bottle and sprayed liquid into their eye.

He grabbed the necklace before fleeing the scene and stole two more watches. One watch was worth $64,000 while the other cost $715,000. As for the necklace, its price was listed for $21,000.

Police recovered the jewelry from the couple’s home and their motive is currently unclear. The couple was arraigned at Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday and were charged with grand larceny.
