Ukraine Wants Iran To Punish Those Responsible For Jetliner Crash

Ukrainian officials announced Saturday that they want Iran to punish those responsible for shooting down a Ukrainian jetliner and provide compensation for the victims’ families.

According to Yahoo News, Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelensky is expected to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to discuss the outcome of the situation involving the jetliner crash that killed 176 passengers in Tehran earlier this week. Zelensky made the following statement on his Facebook page asking Iran to bring the individuals responsible to court and to return the remains of the 11 Ukrainians who perished in the crash.

However, Iran has been very cooperative with the investigation surrounding the crash and has also invited the United States, Canada, and other countries to join in.

The capital city, Tehran has provided evidence of the plane crash to Ukrainian experts which include photos and videos of the crash so the country can carry out the proper protocols. They also collected the black boxes, debris, and recordings between the pilot and air traffic control.
