After dropping his latest song “Love Transaction,” on which he calls out his ex-wife Samantha Lee of pawning their 4-year-old daughter for $20,000 in monthly child support, Tyrese continues to speak on his “joke of a marriage.” He claims that while he “got married to do it for the rest of [his] life, it was all a game to her.”
As we exclusively shared on Sunday (August 27), Tyrese is fully in the process of appealing his ex-wife’s $20,000 child support case, claiming they had a solid prenuptial agreement in place that outlined everything if they were to ever split, and it’s not being enacted upon. In his HOLLYWOOD UNLOCKED exclusive statement, Tyrese said the judge presiding over the child support case has it out for him and is an alleged “racist.”
Prior to sharing a statement with us, a few days before that he dropped a therapeutic track called “Love Transaction.” On the song, released on Thursday (August 24), Tyrese calls out Samantha Lee for pawning their daughter off for $20,000 in monthly child support. He sings, “Up and left, shouldn’t cost a thing / So why must I pay all these lawyer fees? [..] Now you got me asking is this love or is it just a love transaction?”
Later he sings, “Dragging me in and out of court / Trying to take all that I’ve been working for / Can you justify what you say the baby needs / Don’t I make sure that she has everything / 20,000 isn’t child support / We both know just who that money’s for.”
With his divorce playing out in the public for all to see, Tyrese used the recording booth to air out all his view from behind the scenes, detailing his struggle with his ex-wife, and how he believes she never truly was in love with him, but instead with his money, adding, “it was all a game.”
Doubling down on his statements against his ex-wife, Tyrese went live on Instagram the other day and said his marriage was a joke. He said, “I felt like my whole marriage was just a big f**king joke. Just a transaction. I got married to do it for the rest of my life. I guess it was all a game to her. So, it is what it is. Where I feel sad, where I feel confused, where I slip in and out of these places sometime … it’s the love that y’all continue to give me that means the world to me.”
In another live session, he issued a PSA to anyone who looks to court his ex-wife Samantha Lee next. “Whoever you’re with, whoever you’re f**king, I feel bad for them motherf**kers, because on some man-to-man sh*t, go get what you’re there to get, but real ni**a salute. These ni**as are looking at all these videos and interviews, and they know exactly who the f**k you are.”
