After a few months of dating, Tyga and Avril Lavigne have reportedly decided to call it quits.

So what the heck happened? Well, according to an exclusive report by TMZ, they broke up a couple of weeks ago which was a mutual decision. A close source told the outlet that the two remain on good terms and have no harsh feelings towards one another. The source adds that their quick little romance just simply ran its course. Neither of the musicians has publicly spoken out yet to address these breakup reports.

While their split may not come as a huge shock to some people, they sure did surprise fans when they were first seen out together back in February. As we previously reported, the singer, 38, and “Rack City” rapper, 33, were romantically linked since they were spotted having dinner at Nobu in Los Angeles that month. In March, they seemingly confirmed they were an item after being snapped sharing a kiss during Paris Fashion Week.

Around that time, Tyga sealed their relationship by giving Lavigne, a custom necklace. The necklace was made of diamond and reportedly cost a whopping $80,000. The founder of Mavani & Co Jewelry shared that the chain featured 50 carats of pink sapphires and white and black diamonds.

All things seemed to have been going well between them. A source told PEOPLE even said at the time: “Tyga and Avril are getting to know each other,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It’s very new. It’s very casual.”

Before Tyga, Lavigne was engaged to her fiancé Mod Sun but called off their engagement in February after less than a year. Although Lavigne didn’t say much about it, Mod Sun, addressed their split on Instagram, sharing photos and videos of himself performing.

“In 1 week my entire life completely changed… I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken,” he wrote. “Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”

As for Tyga he had been casually dating Camaryn Swanson before Lavigne. However, that didn’t last too long as Swanson accused him of assaulting her in 2021. However, he was not hit with any criminal charges.

TMZ notes that since his latest breakup, Avril and Tyga have been in music mode as she just came off her tour and Tyga’s in the middle of making new music.
