Trump: “Nobody Appreciates How Great A President I Am”

Somebody get the man a tissue and a poll. With the midterms about two weeks away, President Donald Trump took the stage at a Kansas rally Monday night and spent a good chunk of the evening lamenting that nobody is grateful for him, even as his approval rating sits at a record low…

Of course he first blamed Democrats for leaving him a “dark, dirty period” to clean up, then moved on to what he says goes through his head in the Oval Office… He told the crowd he often sits there thinking that nobody appreciates what he has done: “I feel very sad.” When the crowd tried to cheer him up, he kept going. He described himself sitting in what he called the most magnificent office in the world, wondering why folks won’t give him his flowers.

Trump went on to claim he rebuilt the military, started Space Force, and delivered the best job numbers in history, and he complained that nobody notices people no longer come to the border.

Now, this isn’t the first time Trump has gone looking for gratitude. In 2022 he posted that Jewish Americans needed to “get their act together” and appreciate what he’d done for Israel, which drew heavy criticism at the time. The pattern is consistent: when the applause dips, the blame lands on the audience.

Trump’s allies will say the polls miss the real picture, and some will argue his tough talk is exactly why his base loves him. Fair enough.

If the president really wants to know why folks aren’t clapping, there’s an easy answer sitting in the polls. The public is giving him one, and it’s not the one he’s looking for.
