Fans think singer Paloma Faith has been sipping on a little haterade after sharing how much she’s not here for the remake of the “Little Mermaid” starring Halle Bailey.

Miss Paloma took to social media over the weekend to weigh on the Disney film which is now the number one movie in the world. First, she congratulated Halle Bailey for her performance in the live-action production but she went on to express how she was not pleased by the story’s main focus.

In her lengthy post, she said, “Just seen the new little mermaid with my kids, and while I think Halle gives a good performance and it’s great casting, as a mother of girls I don’t want my kids to think it’s ok to give up your entire voice and your powers to love a man. WTF is this? Not what I want to be teaching next-gen women at all.”

Now y’all know social media users were NOT having any kind of negativity… especially not from Paloma. Fans were quick to put her in her place. One Twitter user said, “Jealousy is a disease.” Another said, “Surely she can’t be talking about the same Ariel who was dragging Vanessa by the scalp and stomping on that dress to get her voice back?” A third pointed out, “Ariel wanted to go on land WAY before she even met Eric. she’s always been curious about the surface world. she’s been told to stay away from humans bc they’re evil & after witnessing Eric on that ship, hearing his dreams, & saving him — she just so happens to fall in love.”
