Tim Leissner has officially filed for divorce from Kimora Lee Simmons after 12 years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

Leissner, 56, filed the paperwork on February 4 in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the filing, he cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. He did not list a specific date of separation. However, reports indicate that the couple has been living separately since at least 2022.

Divorce Filing Details and Financial Requests

According to the filing, Leissner is requesting spousal support from Simmons. At the same time, he is asking the court to deny any financial support to Simmons from him. In addition, he is requesting that Simmons cover his legal fees related to the divorce proceedings.
These requests are common in high-profile divorce cases, especially when both parties have significant financial backgrounds. However, the court will ultimately determine the outcome based on financial disclosures and applicable laws.

The filing does not indicate any immediate disputes regarding assets or custody. Still, those matters could be addressed in future court proceedings.

Family and Children Involved

Leissner and Simmons share one child together, Wolfe Lee Leissner, who is 11 years old.

Simmons is also the mother of several other children from previous relationships. She shares daughters Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23, with Russell Simmons. Additionally, she has a son, Kenzo, 16, with Djimon Hounsou. Beyond her biological children, Simmons has also taken on a parental role for “bonus” son Jaden, 19, and adopted son Gary, 16, in 2020.

As of now, there are no public details regarding custody arrangements or parenting plans related to Wolfe. These details may be addressed privately or through the court process.

Tim Leissner’s Legal Background and 1MDB Case

Leissner previously served as a managing director at Goldman Sachs. In 2018, he pled guilty to charges related to a major financial scandal involving the Malaysian government’s investment fund, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The charges included conspiring to launder money and violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
As part of his plea agreement, Leissner agreed to forfeit $43 million. He also gave up shares of stock valued at more than $200 million. In 2023, the Justice Department confirmed those financial penalties.

According to Bloomberg, Leissner began serving a two-year prison sentence in February.

Relationship Timeline and Marriage History

Simmons and Leissner began dating shortly after her split from Djimon Hounsou in 2012. Their relationship became public in 2014.

At the time, Russell Simmons addressed rumors about Kimora’s personal life and clarified her relationship status. “All of us love @OfficialKimora but the fact is she is happily married,” Russell tweeted. “Tim has been family for a while now.”

Before her marriage to Leissner, Kimora was married to Russell Simmons for 11 years. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2009. She later had a long-term relationship with Djimon Hounsou from 2007 to 2012.
