Tiffany Haddish hopped on TikTok over the weekend to respond to a fan who asked whether she ever received the earrings they gave to Common, having hoped that he would hand them over to her. The fan didn’t specify the date on when this supposedly happened, but it’s fair to assume this was probably before their split back in late 2021. To catch you up to speed, Common is alleged to be dating Jennifer Hudson, though neither of the two has confirmed or denied they are actually an item.
They’ve been spotted out and about a few times these past few weeks, having most recently dined together at Nobu in Malibu. And while the dating claims haven’t been confirmed, Haddish seemingly poked fun at the reports as she responded to the TikTok user. The TikTok user wrote, “I’m still waiting to see if Common gave you the earrings I gave him for you when he came to Charlotte.” Haddish quoted the comment as she responded, “Girl, he never gave me no damn earrings. He probably gave those to Jennifer.”

The “Girls Trip” actress’ split from Common came as a surprise to fans considering how happy the pair seemed on social media. They dated for just under two years and were even quarantining together when the coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020. A month after their breakup, Common expressed the split was “mutual” because they “didn’t want to be one foot in, one foot out” and that they “weren’t feeding the relationship.” But in an interview with HU Founder Jason Lee, Haddish said, “I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, okay. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but okay.’”
One of the most important factors in any relationship is communication. Without clear and honest conversations, relationships can quickly break down. In the case of Haddish and Common, it’s unclear whether they were fully transparent about their concerns and issues, especially after the comedian said she was kept in the dark about how Common felt towards the end of their relationship.
