The Notorious B.I.G.’s son, CJ Wallace, born Christopher Jordan Wallace, claims his grandmother Voletta Wallace’s will was changed 15 days before she passed in February 2025 — resulting in her only heirs, CJ and his sister, T’yanna Wallace, being cut out.

According to TMZ, CJ heads to court as he believes the math isn’t math’ing with his grandma’s will. In his court documents, CJ says he and his sister T’yanna are the only people to survive Biggie’s mom after the rapper was murdered in 1997.

CJ says his grandma created a will in 2020 and divided up her assets. This included music awards given to Biggie, jewelry, a fur collection, a Mercedes-Benz SUV, property in Jamaica, and other listed items. Furthermore, CJ says most of these assets were initially bequeathed to him and his sister.

Additionally, the will reportedly declared her 50% stake in Notorious B.I.G., LLC, the company that manages Biggie’s estate, would go to her foundation — the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. After Biggie’s death, Voletta and Biggie’s widow, Faith Evans, controlled the rapper’s estate.

Biggie’s Son CJ Wallace Says Grandmother Voletta Wallace’s Cut Him And Sister Out Of Will Days Before She Died

Now, in his court docs, CJ claims that his grandmother signed an amendment 15 days before her death. He alleges the amendment essentially cut her grandchildren out of her will and made Wayne Barrow — former manager of Biggie and Vice Chairman of the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation — the executor of Biggie’s estate.

CJ believes something is up because and insists his grandmother was in very poor healthy in her final days. He says she was taking several medications and mostly confined to her bed. CJ says the signatures on Voletta’s amendment paperwork look “facially inconsistent” and urges an expert to review the docs.

Furthermore, CJ not only wants a judge to void the changes to the will, but to also immediately remove Barrow as executor of Biggie’s estate.

Notably, CJ’s filing arrives amid Barrow’s recent victory in court after he sued Evans for access to Voletta’s portion of Biggie’s trust profits. CJ’s filing also arrives a year after Voletta reportedly sold 50% of Biggie’s catalog to music publisher Primary Wave. While the amount of the sale is unknown, we know Barrow approved of it. At the time, he said:

“We’re not here to chase checks. [Voletta] trusted no one. With everything she went through, she wasn’t going to allow her or grandkids to be in a position where what Biggie’s legacy was wasn’t beneficial to them.”
