A young woman’s life was tragically cut short after her disgraceful boyfriend decided to end it.

According to police, Adam Byrd, 23, from San Antonio allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, Jade Alyssa Alvarez, 22, after she told him she did not want to have his baby.

On April 6, Alvarez’s dead body was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Capitol Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Authorities spoke with a witness on April 11, who was with Alvarez before the fatal shooting. The witness told police that Alvarez and Byrd were in a relationship. Alvarez was talking with Byrd before the shooting on the witness’s phone, an affidavit states. Byrd had asked for Alvarez to be dropped off on Capitol Avenue. The witness complied and dropped her off on April 5, between 10:30 p.m. Sadly, several hours later, she was found dead by police, the affidavit said. Byrd, who at the time had an active Bexar County arrest warrant for two counts of aggravated robbery from the stickup earlier in the month, was eventually arrested on the warrant. However, while in custody, he was also interviewed about the homicide investigation. From there he admitted to killing Alvarez for a very upsetting reason.

Byrd admitted to police that he had killed Alvarez following an argument about how he wanted to have a child with her, but she did not. He also admitted that he used the same gun to kill her as the one he used during the robbery, according to the affidavit.

In addition to two counts of aggravated robbery, Byrd has also been charged with murder. According to local reports, his bond for the murder charge has been set at $250,000.

More On Byrd’s Robbery

On April 1, Byrd entered a store armed with a handgun and pointed the weapon at two employees before demanding money from the registers, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. While police did not identify the store or location, police said the victims gave Byrd money from the registers and he then fled the scene.

According to KSAT, Bexar County court records show he has an extensive criminal history with charges from 2018. His past charges include evading arrest, drug possession, assault, discharging a firearm in a populated area and terroristic threats, the news site reports.
