A woman is dead and now a man and his girlfriend are being held responsible for her tragic death.

According to Fox 5 Dallas, a man identified as Gabriel Leuyas was arrested this week after his girlfriend allegedly told him to “smoke” a girl he used to “talk to.” The woman who allegedly ordered her boyfriend to make a hit out was Breaira Martin. Investigators say she became upset because the victim, Keerstin Cooper used to “talk to” her boyfriend Leuyas.

Miss Martin called Leuyas over during the fight and reportedly told him to go and “smoke” Cooper. That’s when Leuyas grabbed a semi-automatic handgun, tucked in his waistband, and shot Cooper not once but two times through the windshield, according to police.

It was said that another woman quickly jumped in the vehicle and drove Copper to the hospital, where she sadly later died. Cops were able to nab Leuyas and Martin after they thoroughly reviewed surveillance which captured the incident. With the help of gang records, social media, and body cam footage, detectives were able to identify the suspects.

As a result of their senseless crimes, both of them were charged with murder. The news site notes that Leuyas also faces a single charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon. Meanwhile, Martin was also hit with a charge of resisting arrest. No bail has been set for Martin; it is set at $750,000 for Leyuas.

The troubling lover’s domestic quarrel comes just a month after a 26-year-old woman from Texas was shot and killed by her boyfriend after getting an abortion in another state, Dallas police shared.

As many are aware, the state of Texas banned abortions after roughly six weeks of pregnancy back in September 2021. Nearly all abortions have been halted in Texas since Roe v Wade was overturned last summer, except in cases of medical emergencies.

The woman identified as Gabriella Gonzalez was with her boyfriend, Harold Thompson, 22, in a parking lot when he tried to put her in a chokehold. When she shrugged him off, he then pulled out a gun and shot Gonzalez in the head. Surveillance video showed her falling to the ground and Thompson shooting her multiple times before running away, the affidavit said.

Thompson was eventually arrested and is being held in the Dallas County jail without bond.
