Three Bronx teens were arrested after they allegedly attacked an Asian woman on a city bus Saturday afternoon.
According to the New York Post, the girls approached the 51-year-old victim on the bus around 3 p.m. near Odgen Avenue and West 166th Street. Police say one of the underage assailants slammed an umbrella on the victim’s head while another teen yelled: “You caused coronavirus b*ch!!”.

EMTs arrived at the scene to transport the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she received stitches on her head. NYPD officers did not release the names of the teens due to their age.

The teens were each charged with a hate crime, assault, and aggravated harassment. There have been ten other cases of hate crimes towards Asians in New York City since the deadly outbreak of COVID-19.
