Following the safe return of her son Jace, former ‘Teen Mom‘ star Jenelle Evans is now being slammed by her own mom, who is accusing her of pulling her son off of his medication, thus triggering his recent school trouble and him running away.

On Tuesday (August 17), Jenelle’s 14-year-old son, whom she had just been granted custody of five months ago, was reported missing, with police saying the reality star mom’s son ran away. Deputies with the Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina put out an alert for a runaway juvenile, and said Jace was last seen leaving school around 2:45 p.m.
After hours of panicking and looking for help from the public, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department was able to locate him and safely return him to his family.

Upon his return, Jenelle’s manager, August Keen, told TMZ, “Jace has been found, and is safely at home with Jenelle and his family, thank you to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department and to everyone else for their concerns.”
Jenelle also spoke out and said, “As a boy mom, kids can act up and rebel as I’m sure the majority of us all once did as kids too. Jace, got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off. Jace is a good kid and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children.”
She added, “This has absolutely nothing to do with my situation with David, we do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids. This is a teenage boy being a teenager mad that we decided to take his phone away.”
Following Jace’s return and a response from his mother, his grandmother, Barbara Evans, has since spoken out herself and is slamming her daughter in fear of her grandson’s well-being.
Jace’s grandmother, who had custody of him for more than a decade, believes that her daughter deciding to take pull off of his ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) medication may be reason to blame for his trouble in school and her daughter’s son running away.

Speaking with TMZ, Barbara said her 14-year-old grandson was put on the meds seven years ago, and was also regularly seeing a behavioral specialist, a combination she insisted had been working well for her grandbaby. However, she now claims that ever since her daughter regained custody back in March, she not only accuses her daughter of pulling Jace off of his medication, but of no longer taking him to see his behaviorist.
However, Janelle doesn’t agree with her mom’s claims, and tells TMZ, “Barbara has not been in contact with Jace since Monday. I have cut off contact with her as of 3 weeks ago. Barbara doesn’t have any idea what is going on inside my home. Jace had a therapist appointment today on zoom at 10:30am … she hasn’t even attempted to speak to Jace directly.”
The publication adds that it’s unclear as to whether or not the therapist appointment was already on the books before Jace’s incident or as a result of it.
