Teacher Accused Of Taping Face Mask On 9-Year-Old Student

A Las Vegas school teacher is under fire for reportedly taping a mask onto a 9-year-old student’s face.

The mom of the child said the incident took place after her son got up to drink some water and forgot to wear his mask.

“I was furious, furious,” the mother said to Fox 5 Las Vegas. “I was scared for my son on what kind of long-term effect it is going to have on him socially, the fact that the entire class was laughing.”

The teacher apparently failed to instruct the boy to put on his mask and instead humiliated him.

“She, instead, pulled him up in front of the classroom in front of all of the students and she then taped the mask across the top of his face,” she said.

Her son reportedly said that other students had been through similar ordeals with this specific teacher. The alleged incident is reported to have happened at Reedom Elementary School in Mountain’s Edge.

The Clark County School District said that it was “aware of the isolated incident and is dealing with the employee through proper channels. The principal proactively notified the family of the investigation.”

The mother is looking to have the teacher terminated.
