A man named Joshua Christian, who is alleged to have stalked Taylor Swift “across multiple states” was arrested and ordered to stay away from the “Shake It Off” chart-topper. The 35-year-old from Crown Heights, Brooklyn was booked on Friday on stalking charges after the New York Police Department tracked him down at his home.
His arraignment was held on Saturday in a Manhattan criminal court, where it was uncovered that Joshua is believed to have made multiple attempts to get close to the Grammy winner. Just last month, Joshua is alleged to have shown up at Taylor’s home in Manhattan with the “intent to annoy and harass” her, a source told TMZ.

After failing to gain access to her property, an insider claimed he buzzed Taylor’s intercom and threatened to harm her if she refused to let him inside, though it remains unclear whether she was actually at home when the incident took place. “You’re dead you know. You’re holding her prisoner and I need to set her free,” the accused is quoted saying into the intercom, the assistant district attorney stated.
Joshua was also alleged to have turned up to her Tribeca Franklin Street home in March, showing clear signs that his repeated offences have given all the more reason to believe Joshua could be a danger to the “Style” singer. “The defendant has not only repeatedly shown up to Ms Swift’s home here in New York but has traveled to her home in Tennessee as well,” a prosecutor argued during the criminal court arraignment.
“The people are also investigating an additional incident of stalking and are awaiting video surveillance to confirm the defendant’s identity.”
News of Joshua’s arrest comes just days after reports claimed Taylor is engaged to her longtime beau Joe Alwyn as the couple plan for a “simple and elegant” forthcoming wedding. While it’s unclear when the engagement took place, The Sun asserts that Joe had popped the question a few months ago, with Taylor only ever wearing her engagement ring “behind closed doors.”

Taylor began dating Joe shortly after calling it quits with music producer Calvin Harris. Her romance with the English actor and songwriter wasn’t confirmed until the fall of 2016, and while her previous relationships were heavily covered in the media, Taylor decided to be extra private when she began seeing her current beau.
In a 2018 interview with British Vogue, Taylor coyly addressed her love life but insisted she preferred to be talking about her career than who she’s dating. “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” she said. “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people… but I really prefer to talk about work.”
