Taylor Swift Reportedly Cancels Surprise Grammys Performance

Usually during this time of year, almost every artist and music fan look forward to biggest night in entertainment: The Grammys. However, this year, it looks folks are not as hype for the big ceremony.

One of the reasons is probably because of the recent allegations of the award show being rigged. While that situation is reportedly being investigated, it has also been reported that Taylor Swift decided to sit out rather than perform amid allegations of sexism swirling around the Recording Academy by ousted CEO Deborah Dugan.

Although Swift is nominated in three categories this year, including song of the year for “Lover,” she reportedly decided to cancel her planned “surprise” performance of her song “The Man” at Sunday’s Grammy Awards. However, Page Six reports that the 30-year-old singer is still expected to attend the actual ceremony.

Swift’s exit was first reported by Variety, which added,

“It’s unconfirmed whether her quietly bowing out is directly related to the scandal involving the allegations flying back and forth between the Academy trustees and ousted CEO Deborah Dugan.”
