HU Exclusive: Giving You The Keys To The 2nd Annual #FindingAshleyStewart Contest Fashion Show!

For the second year in a row, popular retail brand Ashely Stewart held its contest fashion show in Brooklyn, N.Y. at the historic Kings Theatre.

Eight beautiful contestants from different parts of the country gathered together to not only show off their fashionable styles and curves but to see if they’re “Ms. Ashley Stewart” — brand ambassador.

The brand was looking for a “woman who effortlessly embodies the qualities that Ashley Stewart stands for; kindness, resilience, confidence, community, and fashion,” and all of the contestants brought just that on stage. But of course, it all came down to one lucky, fierce and very hardworking woman.

Before the winner was revealed, the crowd was blessed with killer performances from artists like, MC Lyte, SWV, Naughty by Nature and more. The event was also hosted by everyone’s favorite host Loni Love and other celebs who were in the house were stars like Lala Anthony, “Real House Wives of Atlanta’s” Peter Thomas and more!

HU Exclusive: Giving You The Keys To Dream Doll’s ‘Life In Plastic 2’ EP Release Party In NYC

On Sunday, September 9, Dream Doll shut down NYC with her “Life In Plastic 2” EP release party at SOB’s. Hollywood Unlocked was there to see all the great moments like the premiere of her new music video “BUNDLES” and all the surprise guests like Mariah Lynn, Gunna and more who came out to support the Bronx rapper and perform with her on stage.

The crowd was definitely feeling her songs off her new project, and as Dream explained, that’s probably because of the hard work she put into creating it. Speaking with the artist, she shared that it took a full year to put everything together, but it was all worth it at the end.

Dream also said that she enjoyed her first EP, but this one was really special to her. The 26-year-old even told us how grateful she was to have an iconic rapper like Lil Kim be featured on one of her songs.

Dream Doll might have been in the music game for a short amount of time, but it looks like she is ready to leave a mark and let the world know that she’s here to stay.

On August 26, many celebrities gathered together to celebrate another year of black women and black excellence at the 2018 Black Girls Rock Awards!

Hollywood Unlocked was front and center on the royal red carpet where we got to speak to a few celebs who were there to honor the achievements of Black women across a variety of industries.

We talked with stars like Skai Jackson, Kyla Pratt, Rapsody and more who all shared how important it is to highlight and support women who are are making major contributions to the world, like Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, dance pioneer Judith Jamison and many more.

The big award show will air live on BET September 9th. The evening, hosted by Queen Latifah, honored Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Lena Waithe and more, as well as paid tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Jason Lee is finally back from his wild adventure and is joined by Giovanni while Melyssa Ford recovers from her near-fatal crash. This week, the hosts are joined by boxing champ Gervonta Davis!

If you don’t know, Gervonta is an American professional boxer; a two-time super featherweight world champion, who has been ranked as the world’s second-best active super featherweight.

Gervonta, 23, starts off by detailing his rough childhood as he was split up from his siblings and put in a foster home while living in Baltimore. Despite that, he explains how he beat the odds and became a successful boxer.

Gervonta also shares what his relationship is currently like with Floyd Mayweather and also gives us inside details on how he is as a new dad! While doing that, the boxer opens up about how his life has changed and the respect he now has for women— and you know Jason got the tea on his relationship with his child’s mother.

Starz Hit Series Power And EFFEN Vodka Bring TRUTH Nightclub To NYC

Here’s something for all you POWER fans: Over the weekend, Vodka and STARZ hit TV- series teamed up to bring the iconic Truth Nightclub to NYC!

The two-night pop-up event were both held in Brooklyn. 50 Cent who is the Executive producer for the show and also plays Kanan Shark, popped out for the first night to surprise fans and give them the real-life experience.

Rotimi, who plays Dre, also came out for the second night to mingle with fans and show everyone what it’s like to really party at TRUTH.

NYC — Rotimi, known for his role as Dre on the hit TV series Power, attended the Truth x EFFEN Vodka’s Pop-up on August 2 in New York City.

The nightclub setup was pretty close to the one that’s on the show; the same sign plastered on the front of the building and purple lighting effects inside the club. The Guest’s was also served with cool drinks that were named after the show’s characters and episodes: The O.G., Dirty Money, The St. Patrick, The Mastermind, and The Come Up.

Overall, both nights were a success and fans seemed very happy that they actually got a chance to feel like they’re really a part of the show.
