Blue Ivy Carter Earns Her First BET Awards Nomination!

Socialites, join us in congratulating Blue Ivy Carter who just snagged her first BET Award nomination!

That’s right! Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s talented 8-year-old is being recognized for her feature spot on “Brown Skin Girl,” the 15th track on “The Lion King: The Gift,” — a project that’s was curated and executive produced by her mother. The song was a hit, charting on “Billboard” Hot 100 for 13 weeks. The song that also features Wizkid and Saint Jhn is also nominated for the BET Her Award.

As BET notes, the category’s competition includes “Underdog” by Alicia Keys, “Melanin” by Ciara feat. Lupita Nyong’o, Ester Dean, City Girls & La La, “I Choose” by Layton Greene, “”Afeni” by Rapsody feat. PJ Morton and “Tempo” by Lizzo feat. Missy Elliott. Last year’s winner was H.E.R. for her song “Hard Place.”

Now as exciting as this is, this is not the first time Blue has been nominated for an award. Blue, Beyoncé, Wizkid and SAINt JHN was nominated for an NAACP award and actually won for outstanding duo, group or collaboration for the same song back in February. On top of that, the song also won the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2019 Soul Train Awards.

The awards show that honors Black leaders in everything from music to film, TV, sports and philanthropy, will air on June 28 at 8 pm on BET, BET HER, and CBS.

As the world is preparing to say goodbye to NBA icon Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the seven other lives lost in the tragic helicopter crash last month in Calabasas, many are gearing up to pay tribute at the memorial today with a series of iconic performances.

Hollywood Unlocked can exclusively report that Beyoncé will perform at Monday’s memorial which will be held at the house that Kobe built, the Staples Center. She is set to be the opening performance for the memorial.

As we are waiting for the memorial to begin, we can share some details of the inside if you didn’t get a chance to attend. Photography and social media are prohibited, but, The LA Times shared images of the program which features pictures of Kobe & Gianna with their family. Attendees also got a shirt with a beautiful image of the two on the back, along with a KB pin.

The memorial has been filled with symbolism from the jump, with the date — 2/24/20 — and the ticket prices — ranging from $24.02 to $224 — chosen to represent the No. 24 and No. 2 jerseys worn by the two.

Beyoncé fans got all the way in “Formation” to cop her new Ivy Park x Adidas collection this week and according to reports, it sold out instantly online!

Clearly, the Beyhive wasn’t playing any games with Beyoncé’s latest line that featured gender-neutral clothes such as hoodies, joggers, jackets, bodysuits, and even four different sneakers. The prices were set at $25 for accessories to $250 for outerwear.

Bey previewed the new line earlier this week as she gifted some of her celebrity friends with the cool pieces, which made fans even more eager to get their hands on it.

While it’s unclear if or when her collection will relaunch, some folks on Twitter have shared that stores like Nordstrom and Adidas may still have availability.

“My team has worked hard with the Adidas team in bringing my vision to life for the first collection and I am grateful and proud,” Bey said in a statement last year before the release. “From the accessories to the clothes and footwear, I wanted to design and re-imagine pieces that serve as favorite armor for anyone who acknowledges the strength in their individual style and lives freely and boldly.”

Reese Witherspoon made it known that she had a great time at the Golden Globes. Not only because she was there to celebrate other great stars, but because she got to have a special moment with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The actress recently explained that she and her pal Jennifer Aniston ran out of water at their table so Witherspoon naturally asked Jay-Z and Beyonce for a glass of their champagne. On Wednesday, Witherspoon poked fun at the scenario by sharing a meme, the first of which shows JAY and Bey looking into the camera with the caption, “When you hear Reese Witherspoon is thirsty…. Hide your champagne, y’all! 😂🥂,” she wrote. The second meme on the situation depicts Bey and JAY raising a toast with their beverages, with Witherspoon photoshopped between the couple.

The fun and excitement didn’t end there. A day after the meme posts, Witherspoon received a special gift from the two; her very own case of Ace of Spades champagne!

“I just got home from New York, and the most beautiful flowers are here and a case of Ace of Spades champagne,” said the star, 43, on her Instagram story.

The note included a small message that simply read “More water — Jay and Bey.” Before ending her video, Witherspoon made a toast with her mom while thanking the couple.

“Cheers guys, thank you so much!”

For those who don’t know, Jay purchased the high-end drink for $200 million back in 2014.

Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, Billy Porter, Lizzo & More Nominated For 2020 NAACP Image Award!

The nominations for the NAACP 2020 event are out and some of our favorites are up to snag an award including Lizzo, Regina King, Billy Porter, Beyoncé and so many more!

Queen Bey managed to snag a total of eight noms across all categories thanks to her Netflix documentary “Homecoming’s” live album, and her involvement in the “The Lion King.” Daughter Blue Ivy Carter also snagged a nomination for Outstanding Collaboration for appearing on the track “Brown Skin Girl” for her mother’s album “The Lion King: The Gift,” according to Variety.

On top of all that greatness, talented singer/ rapper Lizzo earned six nominations in total. Joining Lizzo in one of the categories that she’s up for; “Entertainer of the Year,” Billy Porter, Regina King, Tyler Perry, and Angela Bassett are all up to snag that award as well.
