During the conversation, the pair were asked about their dating experiences before they became superstars. Swae Lee opened up about his very first relationship and how his ex-girlfriend crushed his heart.

He explained that in the early days of his career, they were struggling financially. While some couples would ride it out together, his ex decided to leave him for a man with a bigger bag at the time. He said, “My ex girl broke up with me. It got me right really early. I’m glad it happened to me. She had me whipped, I ain’t gon lie. We had a little apartment, we split it between thirds. We sitting on the floor because we didn’t have furniture.”

He continued, “So boom, she came up to the crib one day — I ain’t got no furniture, we sitting on the floor — [like] ‘Swae, I can’t be with you anymore.’” He continued, “I’m getting ready to move to Atlanta and work with Ear Drummers and make this whole journey like you know what I’m saying? I’m like ‘Huh you finna leave me?’ Boy, I’m shedding tears n-gga.”

Swae explained that the new guy that she left him for was a man who worked as a truck driver and earned over $7,000 per month. Swae admitted that at the time he wasn’t making close to that. But now looking back at how everything went down, Swae said he’s “glad this sh*t happened to me” because it “really got me right early.” Thankfully, that’s all in the past now.
