Congratulations are in order for streamer HMBL Zay, born Isaiah Thomas, as he successfully completes his 3000-mile walk from Philadelphia to California. The streamer walked across America to build a trade school. He made it to Cali in 124 days and raised nearly $200,000 in the process.
We first reported on HMBL Zay back in April. The 27-year-old streamer went viral on his trek across America after a car struck him. On March 26, Zay — who had just completed a peace walk in February from Philly to the South (Richmond, Virginia) — revealed on Instagram that he was embarking on his next missionary-esque trip across the country.
He vowed to walk over 3,000 miles in over 100 days with 1 mission: to “build a trade school for teens” called HMBL University. By April 28, Zay, who documented his entire journey on his Twitch stream, made it to Indiana after walking over 650 miles on foot.
However, within four hours of his arrival to Indiana, he shared on his Instagram that car struck him. In a viral clip, viewers saw a car rear-end the the car behind Zay — which his friend was driving while trailing him for safety purposes. Essentially his friend spotting him ran into the streamer because of the car behind them.

Two hours after that post, Zay shared another of him in the hospital with a neck brace on. Despite sustaining a concussion, sprained ankle, and more, Zay vowed to keep his “promise to God” and continue on with his trek across America. Five days after the incident, Zay was back on the road, resuming his “faith walk.” On his first day back, he walked 41 miles, a total of 14 hours. Nearly three months later, Zay has completed his walk across America.
On Monday (July 27), Zay made it to California after 124 days. He revealed he raised almost all of his $200,000 goal for his trade school. At the time of publishing, he raised over $155,733. After reaching Cali, he shared a prayer on stream. Zay said:
“3,000 miles on foot through the desert, through the mountains, through the sundown towns. Got hit by two cars. Anything is possible. God used me as a vessel to show the world, to show the youth that anything is possible. When they laugh at your, when they tell you that you can’t do something, you gotta believe in yourself. Everything that we went through, everything that we went through to lead to this moment — four months on a road, sacrificing day in, day out. Every single thing that happened, but I want you to know that anything is possible. The kids that’s watching, anything you want to do, you could do it. The greatness is the God in you. The greatness is the God in the spirit of God that’s in you.”
