Social Media Reacts After Nike Denies Involvement With Lil Nas X ‘Satan Shoes’ Containing Human Blood
Nike is setting the record straight!
As we previously reported, rapper and singer Lil Nas X previewed a controversial pair of “Satan Shoes” featuring a bronze pentagram, an inverted cross, and apparently a drop of real human blood. The “Old Town Road” artist is collaborating with the streetwear company MSCHF on the shoes, only 666 pairs of which will be on sale Monday. The controversial kicks which appear to be modified Nike Air Max 97s are expected to be sold for $1,018. It was also noted that the blood was drawn from members of the MSCHF team, the company told NBC News on Sunday.

Of course, news of the shoes drew massive outrage over the Palm Sunday weekend, with many people slamming both Lil Nas X and Nike. However, the big company released a statement to explain that they had absolutely no parts in this collaboration: “We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF,” Nike said in a statement. “Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them.”
The little release of the Satan Shoes coincides with Lil Nas X’s latest single, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” and it’s featured in the music video. The video alone also drew big criticism online.
