Simon Cowell will reportedly tie the knot with his fiancée Lauren Silverman next month, just seven months after he popped the question during the couple’s trip to Barbados in December. The music mogul, who once claimed he would never have children or get married, appears to have had a change of heart since settling down with the socialite in 2013. The pair welcomed their eight-year-old son Eric in 2014, while Lauren has another son, Adam, 16, from her previous marriage to businessman Andrew Silverman.
According to The Sun, the 62-year-old is handling most of the wedding planning, having decided that he’ll want their big day to occur in June — and though Simon tends to spend most of his time in the U.S., he has opted for the ceremony to be held in London since he’s currently there to film the UK’s edition of America’s Got Talent. “He has taken charge of the planning, and the date has been set for June,” a told the news outlet. “The ceremony is going to take place in London, with their son Eric front and centre, naturally.”
All of Simon’s closest friends and family members will be in attendance, as the source further added that he hopes to “get Lauren up the aisle as quickly as he can,” presumably because he’ll have some time off once the talent show he’s currently filming concludes later this month. News of his upcoming wedding plans come weeks after the TV personality expressed how spending most of his time with his leading lady during the pandemic brought them closer. “We were in the same house for over a year and I thought, ‘Well, actually, we get on really, really well,'” Simon gushed.

“And for Eric, as he gets older, he will be asked more and more about his parents, and I thought it was the right thing to do for him. I also just couldn’t see myself ever dating anyone again. The idea of going out on a first date now is too weird.
“My mum and dad had an amazing marriage and I used to call them best friends, and I think that’s a big part of it.”

In the same interview, Simon said he had stepped away from some work opportunities in fear of “burning out” and subsequently running his production company into the ground, which has led him to spend more time with his family and prioritize his health. He recalled being “nervous” when thinking about potentially suffering a break from his hectic workload, prompting him to make some adjustments that would allow him not to be committed to his career daily.
“I’m a great believer in doing something before something bad happens, rather than waiting for something bad to happen,” he gushed. “I was thinking a lot about that during the past two years. I’ve seen it happen to people, close friends of mine, where they get burnt out, and you don’t want to be in that place.”
