Simon Cowell Breaks Back After Falling Off Electric Bike
’America’s Got Talent’ judge Simon Cowell is currently hospitalized after reportedly breaking his back in a biking incident.
According to the Guardian, a rep for the mogul revealed that he was currently in hospital and was “doing fine”.
“Simon had a fall from his bike, testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family. He hurt his back and was taken to hospital. He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands,” she said. “Simon has broken his back and is having surgery this evening.”
He reportedly broke his back in multiple places.
Simon, the creator of “America’s Got Talent,” serves as a judge on the show. He has also been a judge on “Britain’s Got Talent,” “The X Factor” and “American Idol.” He was due back to “America’s Got Talent” this week and was missing the semi-finals of “Britain’s Got Talent” due to a clash in filming schedules as a result of the pandemic.
“As bad as it is, you always have to find a solution to get back to work,” Cowell previously said to USA TODAY. “I have sympathy for so many people in this situation, but if our show is an example, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s different, but hopefully it will still be as popular.”
