Selena Gomez has appeared to have jumped to Hailey Bieber’s defense following her explosive interview on Spotify’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Wednesday, where the model touched on topics pertaining to her relationship with husband Justin Bieber. A huge talking point from the conversation with host Alex Cooper was the ongoing rumors that Hailey had stolen Justin from Selena and that there was some sort of rivalry between her and the “Good For You” singer, an accusation that was vehemently denied in the chat.
Hailey said that if she spoke out about the situation and cleared up the rumors that have plagued her for the past four years, people would finally move on. And now it seems Selena has added her two cents by urging people to be nicer and stop sending “vile and disgusting messages” to others, a remark she made just one day after Hailey’s podcast interview.

During a TikTok Live session, the 30-year-old, who didn’t mention Hailey by name, said, “Some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting. It’s not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.” She added, “All I have to say is it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words ’cause that’s exactly what I want. That’s it.”
Her comments come on the heels of Hailey going into detail about how her mental health was affected by online trolls who have tormented her with inappropriate messages because she ended up with Justin, whom she has since married.
The couple, who tied the knot back in 2018, is still going strong and aren’t letting the negative comments get to them anymore, but Hailey recounted how logging into her social profiles in the past would see her bombarded with nasty comments on why she wasn’t deserving to be with Justin, with some saying she came in between Selena and Justin’s relationship.

When asked if there was an overlap when she was seeing Justin, and whether he was still with Selena at the time, the New Yorker retorted, “It’s not in my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I would just never do that. I was raised better than that. I was not interested in doing that and I never was.”
“I think there are situations where you can still have back-and-forth with someone, but even that was not the situation. I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it. I had been involved with him since I was 18.”
