Protect, Serve, and… Pleasure? A Secret Service officer found himself trading his badge for handcuffs after allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of hotel guests. Clearly this agent took “personal protection” a step too far, and he’s now cooling his heels in the slammer.
According to reports, 33-year-old John Spillman was down in Florida helping with security for Donald Trump at the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral. He finished his shift, probably thought he did a good job, and then decided to spend his “off-duty” time being a complete menace.
According to the reports, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office got a call Sunday night about some “nasty” behavior over at the DoubleTree by Hilton. When the police pulled up to the sixth floor, they didn’t find a high-stakes security breach, they found Spillman “masturbating at the end of the hallway.” A woman told police she saw him in the lobby and he actually followed her up to the sixth floor. “The victim advised they immediately entered their room because she was in fear for” her life, the report says. “The victim saw the defendant masturbating next to their hotel room.”
The Secret Service is currently in “damage control” mode, and rightfully so. Spillman was hauled off to the Miami-Dade County Jail with a $1,000 bond, and he’s been put on administrative leave while the agency tries to figure out how one of their own lost his mind so publicly.
Richard Macauley, the Chief of the U.S. Secret Service Police, released statement to CNBC saying,
“The alleged conduct is unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity that I demand of our personnel. This agency takes these matters with the utmost seriousness; consequently, the individual has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of this criminal matter and a complete and thorough internal investigation.”
The Bottom Line
You really can’t trust the suit and the badge every time. This man went from guarding the President to being the “Naked Man on the 6th Floor” in less than 24 hours. Now he’s sitting in a cell rethinking his entire career.
