Seattle Landlord Charged In Murder Of Couple Stuffed Inside Suitcases
Michael Lee Dudley, a 62-year-old Seattle landlord, has been charged in the murder of a young couple, whose remains were found stuffed inside suitcases, by adventurous teens on TikTok.
Back in June, we reported on the viral video, which featured a couple of teens venturing to a Seattle beach and discovering two suitcases on June 19. Inside were garbage bags stuffed with the dismembered parts. The teens immediately called the police and reported their findings.
A little over two months later, police have now arrested and charged Dudley with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Jessica Lewis, 35, and Austin Wenner, 27. Police suspect the murder occurred on June 16 and confirmed that Lewis, a mother of four, was shot several times, while Wenner died of a single gunshot wound. Dudley is currently booked into King County Jail, with his bail set at $5 million.
Per documents, the couple were renting a room in Dudley’s house and struggled to make their $1,500 monthly rent. On June 9, there was an argument after the landlord requested they move out. A witness says they heard a male voice say, “Please don’t do this, just let me leave,” before bullets and blood were found int he room they occupied.
