Weeks after the announcement of legendary actor Sean Connery’s death, the cause has finally been revealed.

His death certificate reported Connery died of respiratory failure due to pneumonia, old age, and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rate that can increase the rate of cardiac-related complications. It also listed Connery’s occupation as a “retired actor” and he died on October 31 at 1:30 AM in his home in the Bahamas.
His wife, Micheline Roquebrune, said in a statement that Connery died peacefully in his sleep and held a private funeral with close family and friends.

The Oscar-winning actor is well known for his role as the original James Bond and appeared in other films such as “Indiana Jones”, “The Hunt for Red October,” “The Last Crusade”, and “The Rock.” The seven Bond films he starred in were “From Russia with Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “Diamonds are Forever,” and “Never Say Never Again.”
He was also knighted in 2000 and won two BAFTA awards along with three Golden Globes.
