As we reported on Monday (August 21), “Everybody’s getting off the scooter,” per Vulture. Yesterday morning it was learned that songstress Demi Lovato had split with Scooter Braun and his management company SB Projects some time last month. It was further noted that the split was mutually agreed upon and amicable.

Lovato first signed with the management firm back in 2019, having been previously managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack. A source close to Lovato and Braun’s partnership said it was time for her to seek new direction, but she was “thankful for her time with SB Projects.” As of last month, Lovato is said to be a free agent and conducting conversations with other prospects for management.

Joining Demi Lovato was fellow songstress Ariana Grande. Hours after reports broke about Lovato leaving Scooter Braun, reports confirmed Grande skedaddled too. However, it is unclear if she is cutting all business ties with Braun outside of management. Grande first signed with the music manager back in 2013.

Now, prior to Monday’s news of both Lovato and Grande parting ways, last Thursday (August 17), a report from Puck claimed that Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun were breaking up. It was reported that the two haven’t been on speaking terms for several months, and now “lawyers are involved” in their dealings. Braun has been Bieber’s manager from the very beginning of his career, back when he discovered Bieber on YouTube in 2007. Bieber has been a part of Braun’s SB Projects firm since before its parent company Ithaca Holdings sold to South Korea’s HYBE in 2021, and then became its CEO.

However, despite all of these reports, reps for both Bieber and and Braun said the headlines were just “rumors” and “not true.” Meanwhile, Lovato and Grande would officially ditch Braun; and before that, back in May the manager lost another big star, Latin sensation J Balvin, who signed to Braun in 2019, and is now being managed by Roc Nation.

Since all of yesterday’s hooplah, Braun has publicly reacted to the news of losing two of his longtime clients. Taking to his official account on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, he simply and jokingly wrote, “Breaking news… I’m no longer managing myself.”
