Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are unfortunately joining the growing list of celebrity couples who have decided to call it quits.
According to a report by The Atlantic-Journal Constitution, the rapper, 45, filed for divorce from the former talk show, 44, on Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia. The couple were married for two-and-a-half years. Per the documents, they had a prenuptial agreement in place.
According to his filing, he says the former couple are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.” Furthermore, the document also says that the rapper wants to share joint legal custody of the pair’s daughter.
The news definitely comes as a great shock to their fans as the two seemed to be going strong in recent days. Earlier this month, Mai even shared an adorable video of her and their daughter celebrating the success of Jeezy’s book. She wrote in the caption,
“Today I celebrate a remarkable milestone achieved by my husband, @jeezy, whose memoir ‘Adversity For Sale’ has soared to the New York Times bestsellers list. 📚🏆 Your story has always been an inspiration to me, but seeing it in print has left me even more in awe of your strength and wisdom. You invited us into the most intimate corners of your life, where pain and triumph coexist. This moment isn’t just a testament to your literary skills baby, but a recognition of your ability to inspire through the power of storytelling.” She went on to say at the time, “I’m endlessly grateful for your voice in this world. Honored to walk beside you my love🖤

More On Their Relationship
The pair first met on the set of The Real in November 2018 and went on their first date later that month. The two kept dating quietly for months until finally going public in 2019.
Jeezy and Mai Jenkins posted a group photo on Instagram, which also included Trey Songz, Lori Harvey, O.T. Genasis, and Malika Haqq at the time. The caption read, “3’s Company.” However, that year she really didn’t confirm their relationship but said she was “multi-dating.”
She explained on The Real, “Jeezy and I hang out,” she continued. “He’s very special to me, so we don’t really have a label to define what it is we’re doing. We’re just having a good time together. Real fam you know I always keep it a little too real at this table. I promise you that when there is that one special boo, you will be the first to know from me,” Mai added.
After popping out even more that year, they went Instagram official and celebrated Thanksgiving together. In 2020, Jeezy proposed to her. Jeezy and Jeannie Mai Jenkins got married in 2021 and welcomed a daughter together that same year.
As unfortunate to hear about their split, neither of them has publicly spoken out yet on their alleged breakup.
