People may use animals to smuggle drugs because they believe it can be a discreet way to transport illegal substances without drawing attention. Animals such as dogs, cats, and birds can be trained to carry small quantities of drugs in their collars, cages, or body cavities, making it difficult for law enforcement officials to detect illegal activity.
Furthermore, animals are often seen as innocent and harmless creatures, so using them to smuggle drugs can effectively avoid suspicion. Criminals may also use animals because they can be transported easily across borders and through security checkpoints.
However, it’s important to note that using animals to smuggle drugs is a cruel and inhumane practice that can cause harm and distress to the animals involved. Not only does it put the animals at risk of injury or death due to ingesting or carrying toxic substances, but it can also lead to their abandonment or euthanasia if authorities catch them.
