Rita Ora Apologizes For 30th Birthday Bash During COVID-19 Lockdown After Criticism & Hefty Fine
Joining the likes of her former potential sister-in-laws Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner (JK!), Rita Ora now apologizes for attending her own 30th birthday bash amid the current COVID-19 lockdown in the UK.
On Monday (Nov. 30), the British songstress apologized after attending a Notting Hill party to celebrate her dirty 30 amid quarantine. In addition to be blasted on social media, she was reportedly hit with a huge fine of £10,000 (or $12,000) for breaking the rules. After this weekend’s turn up, Ora took to social media with a lengthy and apologetic message, sharing how “deeply sorry” and “embarrassed” she is over her actions.

Ora wrote, “I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be ok. I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgment. Given the restrictions, I realize how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility. I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to keep us all safe. Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologize.”
