As it was previously reported, the singer opened up the suit against Ronald in 2019, with the pair set to appear in court over the matter later this month. Rihanna said in the filing: “Although Mr Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.”

In the filing Rihanna also alleged her father tried to trademark the phrase “Fenty” and use it to open hotels. The site notes that she asked the court for an injunction against her father. However, he noted that he was the first to use the name and asked for the lawsuit to be thrown out entirely.

Ronald previously denied claims that he falsely used his daughter’s name to promote his business. According to documents seen by Radar Online, Riri has apparently reached a settlement out of court with him in an effort to avoid a public dispute.
