Rihanna, Kim Kardashian And Jay-Z Lead The Entertainers On Forbes’ Latest Billionaire List, But Kanye West Is Nowhere In Sight After Losing Adidas Partnership

Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Kim Kardashian are the stars leading Forbes’ latest list of the world’s richest billionaires, which shouldn’t really come as a shock considering how they’ve all had a tremendous year with their individual businesses.  The article, published on Tuesday, claims that while Rih-Rih’s net worth was down from $1.7 billion to $1.4 billion, she has still ranked as one of the top-earning celebrities thanks to the success of her Fenty brand.

In fact, the success of Savage X Fenty, Fenty Beauty, and Fenty Skin helped push her business partner Bernard Arnault, who is the chairman of LVMH, to dethrone Elon Musk as the world’s richest man by growing his net worth by $50 billion to $211 billion. Elsewhere, Km Kardashian also saw a decline in her wealth from a reported $1.9 billion to $1.2 billion, but still remaining as one of the top celebrity earners after her Skims shapewear line was valued to be worth an astounding $3.2 billion.

Last year, the reality star also jumped back into skincare after discontinuing her KKW Beauty line to focus on her latest business venture, SKKN By Kim, which launched in June 2022. Jay-Z, on the other hand, saw a huge boost to his net worth, from $1.4 billion to $2.5 billion, making him just as wealthy as Oprah Winfrey, whose net worth fell from $2.6 billion to $2.5 billion this year. Kanye West on the other hand didn’t make the list after his lucrative deal with Adidas saw his own net worth take a drastic decline and reportedly fall off the billionaire list entirely.

Kanye West’s anti-Semitic comments cost him his partnership with Adidas but also had a significant impact on his billionaire status and reputation.

Adidas had been collaborating with West on his Yeezy fashion line since 2013, and the business relationship had been highly successful. However, in the wake of West’s comments, Adidas made the decision to cut ties with the rapper, stating that they do not tolerate any form of hate speech or discrimination.

This decision had a significant impact on West’s brand and income, as the Yeezy line had been a major source of revenue for him. It also served as a warning to other brands and public figures that offensive language and behavior will not be tolerated.

In 2020, Forbes announced that Kanye West had officially become a billionaire. However, after the controversy surrounding his anti-Semitic comments, Forbes retracted this statement, stating that they had overvalued West’s assets and that he was not actually a billionaire.

This retraction had a significant impact on West’s reputation, as he had been vocal about his desire to be recognized as a billionaire. It also served as a reminder that wealth and success can be fleeting, and that offensive behavior can have serious consequences.

West’s comments were particularly offensive to the Jewish community, which have a long history of facing discrimination and persecution. Many Jewish organizations and individuals spoke out against West’s comments, calling for him to apologize and educate himself on the harmful impact of anti-Semitic language.

This backlash served as a reminder to even celebrities that comments which may be considered offensive to other groups of people can have a real impact on marginalized communities, and that it is important to be mindful of the impact our words and actions can have.
